Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor with WPDE-TV. Later, she worked at WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reportage in Charleston about the police's leniency toward DUI cases has led to being the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the incidents. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor, investigative report and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the NBC weekend co-anchor. O'Dell is the anchor of choice for Access Hollywood. In addition she has contributed to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted also for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
